Ventura Udomi

Čoko Needs a Home

Čoko is a gentle, cautious and truly special girl who has been waiting for a home for years. She needs a calm, secure environment and people who will understand her sensitive yet cautious nature…

As a tiny puppy, Čoko was abandoned on the street in the middle of winter, along with five other puppies from the same litter. Freezing, alone and hungry, they were found by nuns from the nearby Rajinovac Monastery. The people at the monastery took them in and helped them survive the winter.

When we learned about their story and their desperate need for help, we went to collect the entire litter and brought them under Ventura’s protection. They all received veterinary examinations, parasite treatment and all the care they needed.

One by one, the puppies found their homes, and Čoko was the only one left waiting.

Today, Čoko is approximately five years old and has received all necessary veterinary care. She is vaccinated, microchipped, spayed and regularly protected against internal and external parasites, as well as heartworm.

She is gentle, sweet and quiet, but also wary of people she does not know. Čoko is not a dog who will immediately run into everyone’s arms. As though she is made of caution, she carefully observes the world around her and gives her trust slowly.

When she relaxes, she shows how much warmth she carries within her. She can be very gentle, affectionate and attached to the person she accepts, but she needs a home that will not expect her to change overnight.

Čoko loves peace, a familiar routine and a safe space. When she is indoors, she usually settles into her own little corner. She is unassuming and calm, but happily accepts attention when she feels safe. She is tidy, careful and well-behaved in the home.

She loves nature, a yard, sniffing and the freedom to move around. She is afraid of the leash, and an urban environment is not a good choice for her. For that reason, we are looking for a house with a securely fenced yard in a peaceful environment, without pressure, noise or expectations that she will immediately be completely open with everyone.

She does well with other animals, especially cats, with whom she has previously shared space and slept. She can also get along well with dogs when introductions are handled properly and the environment is calm.

Čoko is not a dog for everyone. She is a dog for people who understand that distrust is not a flaw, but a trace of everything she has been through and a way of trying to protect herself.

We are looking for patient, gentle and responsible people who will give her time, space and safety. People who will not rush her trust, but will earn it.

For years, she has been waiting for someone to see her for who she truly is: gentle, cautious, special and worthy of love.

Čoko is looking for a peaceful home, a secure yard and people who will show her that belonging can mean safety, tenderness and love.
