1. Application

2. Questionnaire
The applicant completes a questionnaire so that we can assess the living conditions they can provide and their approach to animal welfare. .
3. Telephone Interview
If the questionnaire shows that you meet our requirements, we conduct a telephone interview to get to know you better and assess your readiness.
4. Meeting
We arrange an in-person meeting with the animal for applicants who are shortlisted.
5. Trial Home (Minimum 30 Days)
Our organization delivers the animal to the home, and a trial-period agreement is signed. During the trial period, the animal remains microchipped and registered to the organization. The adopter is required to maintain regular contact with us, follow safety rules (the dog must always be on a leash and under strict supervision), and allow home visits arranged in advance.
6. Official Adoption
If the trial period is successful, the permanent adoption agreement is signed and notarized. Only then is the animal officially adopted, and the adopter has five days to transfer the microchip registration details into their name.
We receive this question very often, and we understand why people contact us when they find an abandoned, injured or endangered animal. However, taking in a new animal depends entirely on our current capacity and our ability to provide responsible, long-term care.
Ventura is not a shelter, an animal rescue facility, an emergency service or a field rescue team that can respond to every report.
We are a registered animal welfare organization run entirely by volunteers. We have no paid staff, no unlimited space and no capacity to take in every animal brought to our attention.
For us, taking in a new animal means accepting responsibility for another life, together with the time, expenses, organization and commitment that responsibility entails.
We can therefore take in a new animal only when we have the necessary capacity and when we are confident that doing so will not compromise the quality of care provided to the animals already under our protection.
We believe responsible rescue requires a realistic assessment of what we can provide, rather than impulsively taking in more animals than we can care for properly over the long term.
Every decision to accept a new animal is made individually, according to the organization’s current resources and the responsibility that every animal deserves.
When we rescue an animal, we sometimes know from the very first days that their recovery will be long and that they may never find a permanent home. Even so, that does not change our decision to give them a chance, provide the care and safety they need, and ensure they can live with dignity.
These animals remain under Ventura’s lifelong protection.
Ventura cares for dogs and cats with various disabilities, chronic illnesses, serious diagnoses and medical conditions that require specialized care, ongoing monitoring, treatment, medication, supplements, quality nutrition and regular veterinary check-ups.
Caring for them is one of our organization’s greatest responsibilities and most demanding commitments. There is a significant difference between caring for a healthy animal and caring for one who needs additional attention, treatment or a specialized care routine every day.
For animals who do not find a permanent home, Ventura remains their home and their source of safety for the rest of their lives.
That is why it is important to us that they are not forgotten. Alongside the many animals for whom we are seeking homes, there are others who remain quietly present in our daily work, often far from public attention, but never far from our care.
We are grateful to everyone who remembers them and chooses to support their lives, recognizing how complex and long-term the care of animals under our lifelong protection can be.
Ventura exists thanks to the support of individuals, small businesses and companies — people who recognize our commitment to abandoned animals and choose to stand with us.
Every donation, regardless of its amount, is valuable to us because it directly contributes to the rescue, treatment, recovery and daily care of the animals under our protection.
These funds cover veterinary expenses, treatments, food, accommodation, transport, equipment and everything else needed to provide the animals in our care with the safety and care they deserve.We are often asked whether Ventura receives government subsidies, regular public funding or any other financial assistance from the state.
Since the organization was founded, Ventura has never received government subsidies or any form of financial support from the state. Our work therefore depends entirely on the support of individuals, small businesses and companies who believe in what we do and want to help abandoned animals.
