Her official name is Bella, but everyone calls her Beka or Bekanac: a soft, cheerful girl who always seems to be smiling and whose big eyes make her almost impossible to resist.
Beka is a Labrador mix with a typical Labrador personality: she adores people, affection, balls, food and being close to her humans.
She is extremely affectionate, tolerant, sociable and accustomed to living with people. She is completely calm during car rides and can accompany her people anywhere without any problems.
She has been living in temporary home-based care in New Belgrade for some time, where she shares her home with another dog and cats and gets along wonderfully with everyone.
Bella is between five and six years old and has received all necessary veterinary care. She is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped and regularly protected against internal and external parasites, as well as heartworm.
Behind her is a serious struggle and a period full of challenges. Beka underwent a very successful hip operation and a long recovery. Today, she walks, runs, plays and functions normally without any problems, but lifelong attention to her hips, body weight and the quality of her diet will be necessary.
Her other hip does not currently require surgery and is functional and stable, but regular check-ups are very important. For this reason, we are looking for responsible people who understand that loving a dog also means providing ongoing care, high-quality food and everything she needs to remain healthy and happy.
Bella, or Beka, is a dog who sheds quite a lot, just like Labradors do, and this is something her future family must accept without expecting her to change or conform to aesthetic preferences.
Although she is accustomed to living in an apartment and loves being close to people most of all, she can also live in a house with a yard, but only if she has access to a warm and safe indoor space. She is not a dog for isolation, an outdoor kennel or a life without human contact.
She is looking for a family, companionship, affection and a sense of belonging.
After everything she has been through, she has remained incredibly cheerful, full of love and ready to become someone’s best friend.
We can say with confidence that Beka is one of the most wonderful dogs we have ever met.
