Zoi was abandoned at a gas station and left in the cold, completely on her own. For hours, she wandered inconsolably, running after cars. During that desperate wandering, she was hit, and when we found her, she was visibly bruised.
Examinations revealed that her condition was far more serious than her external injuries suggested. An ultrasound showed that she was pregnant, that her uterus had ruptured and amniotic fluid had leaked, and that some of the fetuses no longer had heartbeats. She underwent emergency surgery. Further tests showed that she was anemic, followed by treatment, careful care and a long recovery.
We rescued Zoi, took her into our care and stayed by her side until she had fully recovered. Today, everything she went through is behind her, and what remains is something truly precious — her gentleness, stability and trust in people.
She is now completely healthy and has received all necessary veterinary care. She is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped and regularly protected against internal and external parasites, as well as heartworm.
Zoi is three and a half years old and weighs approximately 14 kilograms. She is small to medium-sized, well socialized and accustomed to living in a home. She is house-trained, walks nicely on a leash, and is calm and reliable in everyday life. She forms deep bonds with her people and enjoys walks together, a peaceful family routine and closeness.
She is gentle and wonderful with children, provided that adults take clear responsibility. Zoi must only be walked on a leash and under adult supervision. Children must not walk her on their own, and we expect this rule to be followed consistently.
She previously had a trial home that we sincerely believed would become her forever home. When the clearly agreed rules were not respected, we brought her back into our care. A dog’s safety is never a matter of compromise for us.
That is why we are not simply looking for a roof over Zoi’s head. We are looking for a carefully chosen, responsible and safe home. People who understand how precious the trust of a rescued dog is and who will protect that trust through their actions every day.
Zoi deserves a thoughtful and lifelong commitment. A family that will accept her as an equal member, respect her needs and take full responsibility for her safety and well-being.
In return, they will welcome a dog who brings peace, warmth, devotion and that special kind of love into everyday life — the kind offered by beings who have survived so much, yet have preserved their gentleness.
